Carleton worked in the private sector for nearly ten years before becoming a full-time investor in 1970. In addition to a successful real estate career, Carleton enjoyed teaching local real estate classes. He instantly caught the “teaching bug” and expanded his training by creating home study courses and marketing them nationally.
Carleton is recognized as the author of the No Down Payment® home study course as well as other successful real estate books, video and audio programs to support the investor. The Real Estate Toolkit is a companion to the No Down Payment® course, designed for those who want to prepare forms and store investing information on the computer. The Painless Guide To Practical Property Management, Cashing In On Foreclosure And Distressed Properties, and Creating Quick Wealth With Partners are titles to further explore specific areas of investing. The Investor’s Edge Video Library offers motivational support as well as practical investing methods. On the graduate level, Carleton’s portfolio includes: Confidential Conversations, The Real Estate Mastery Course, Wealth and Empowerment Training: An In-The-Field Real Estate Investing Experience which takes students into another level of investing through actual experiences of viewing, evaluation, and making offers on properties.
In 1985 Carleton partnered with the Professional Education Institute to create one of the first long-form television advertisements (Infomercials). The show was a hit and is currently the longest running infomercial on television. Carleton has also appeared on numerous talk shows and has personally lectured over 500,000 people on the subject of creative real estate investing. The S.R.S (Specialist in Real Estate Securities) designation was awarded to Carleton by the Real Estate Securities and Syndication Institute. Carleton was also named in Who’s Who in Real Estate and inducted in the Real Estate Hall of Fame in 1992.
